| About Apurba Kites and TOM!!! |

comming Competitions |

| Let me tell you a little about myself
my name is Apurba Roy my friends call me Tom. I learnt to fly fighter
kites back in India when i was only ten years old.
I had a thrity year gap where I didn't fly kites. Until I met
Ron Moody, who introduced me to the kite festival scene and all
the old memories came flooding back.
I went to france last year for a compeition. I got through
the first round and went out in the second, all because the glass
powder string (manjha) cut my finger which stopped me pulling the
string. The manjha I was using i made myself it wasn't as good as
the professional manjha. |

Monheim Germany 2004
Looking forward to claiming First place! |

June 2004 Outreaw in France
I went to Outreaw in France for
a competition and managed a respectable 4th
place, with all the stiff competition from all over Europe
I was quite pleased. Although I know I can do better, not only with
my technique but also the material that I am using. All the experiencethat I gain in compitions is then used skill fully to improve my kites,
the materals such as the Manjha to the type of bamboo. |

May 2004 European
championship in Rougham
I went to the European championship in Rougham
and managed Second place. I should have won, but
as they say better luck next time. I did gain some valuable information
into the type of bamboo that I am using. It would seem that the opposition
would like to know where I get it from so they can use it too as it
was stringer than the majority if the competition. Dont worry, the
secret is safe with me. |

January 2004 India
